Introducing Mocavo’s Dropbox Integration: a fast and easy way to upload any and all of your .ged files to your Mocavo account. Since Dropbox allows up to 2 gigs of files (for free accounts), you’ll have plenty of space for it all. And as always, once your file is in your account, you’ll get to decide whether or not you’d like to make it public for others to see.

To upload a family tree using Dropbox, simply place your GEDCOM file inside the /Apps/Mocavo.com directory inside your Dropbox folder. Since Dropbox makes uploading files much faster and easier than a browser, (more…)

Today we’re excited to announce a subtle, yet significant improvement to your genealogy search results, for both free and paid users. Now when you run a search on Mocavo.com as a free registered user, you’ll see two new options under each of your results:

The first of these is the “I’ve Read This” button, allowing you to mark off which results you’ve investigated, letting them stand out from the ones you’ve yet to read. When you click on a link in Mocavo, it automatically sets it to “I’ve Read This”.

With less than two months to go, the genealogy community is already buzzing about RootsTech 2012. In case you haven’t heard of it before, “RootsTech brings developers and users of technology together in one uniquely designed conference.” In a nutshell, it’s a great time.

This years family history and technology conference takes place in Salt Lake City, Utah from February 2nd to the 4th, and the Mocavo team is thrilled to say we’ll be in attendance with our very own booth!
